Microsoft has been hard at work in bringing the  “Internet of Things” to business.  IOT, or Internet of things is  the imbedding of objects with sensors which enables them to communicate with other devices, and these devices will be all part of a larger network using Microsoft Azure Intelligent Systems Services.

Microsoft and its partners have been working together in modernizing London Underground, which is the worlds first underground railway and carries over a billion passengers every year.  To achieve this, Microsoft and their partners have placed  thousands of sensors and devices that provide real-time information on helping London Underground run more efficiently.

The system streamlines manual monitoring processes, securing and integrating disconnected systems, and spotting equipment issues in real-time using Microsoft Azure Intelligent Systems Services
